CSU Training and CSU School of Education TAA40104 Upgrade Program

CSU Training and CSU School of Education have formed a partnership to deliver an upgrade program from BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training to TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Details of the program are outlined below.

 Target Audience

Group 1

Graduates of School of Education VET programs who:

          • Have attained BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training;
          • Wish to upgrade to TAA40104 Certificate in Training and Assessment; and
          • Have current experience working in the VET sector.

Group 2

Potential students of CSU School of Education VET programs (Bachelor of VET, Graduate Diploma of VET or Associate Diploma of VET) who have:

          • BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and Assessment
          • Current experience working in the VET sector

Timeframe

You will be expected to:

  • Complete the program within 12 months of enrolling
  • Develop your own study timetable to ensure you complete all assessments within the timeframe –you can consult with your academic advisor for assistance if required
  • Submit your work at any time over the twelve month period
  • Make contact with the appointed academic advisor to discuss any problems or request to vary assessment t tasks.

Part 2: Learning in Workplaces

Part 3: Training Packages and Assessment

Each Part contains

  • A number of Units of Competency (as shown in the table below)
  • Learning materials
  • Study Tasks
  • A number of reproduced readings from a variety of sources
  • Assignment questions (assessment items)

Note: Suggested hours are taken from the Victorian Purchasing Guide. This can be found at: http://trainingsupport.otte.vic.gov.au/p_trgpck.cfm. They indicate the number of hours that you may need to study and practise in order to achieve competence.

 Practice Environment

You will be required to carry out part of your learning in two practice environments. The two practice environments that you will need to have access to are:

  • Part 1: The RTO Environment - A Registered Training Organisation (RTO); such as a TAFE college or a private provider (approximately 15 hours)
  • Part 2: Learning in Workplaces – A Workplace/Enterprise where training is carried out, but is not the main function of the organisation (approximately 25 hours)
  • Part 3: Training Packages and Assessment –Workplace/ Enterprise with an RTO option for part (approximately 10 hours)

Recognition of work already undertaken

As this program is written for people who want go undertake additional learning as well as assessment, it does not offer an RPL facility. However, students are able to include work previously undertaken so long as it meets the performance criteria for the unit and all appropriate parts of the assessment tasks are completed.

Cost

$1,496. Payment may be made in instalments of:

$400 upon enrolment

$411 upon completion of Part 1

$274 upon completion of Part 2
