
(TAA40104) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
CSU Training offers TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment via Distance Education. Upgrade from BSZ40198 is offered as well as RPL. To access these options, complete and submit the enrolment form and pay the enrolment fee.
Upon enrolment, an Assessor will contact you to discuss your study pathway.
From July 2007, a customised upgrade will be offered for students who have completed a Vocational Education & training Course (VET) through CSU School of Education from 2002.The parts of VET study that link to the TAA will be recognised.
Information about the Qualification
What does the Training and Assessment Training Package (TAA04) cover?
The Training and Assessment Training Package is designed to meet the current and future competency development and qualification needs of new and existing personnel working in a broad range of work functions and activities within vocational education and training. It provides a clear set of benchmarks to support both initial competency achievement and ongoing staff and professional development.
The Training and Assessment Training Package (TAA04) addresses a range of competency areas that represent the key areas of work undertaken within organisations that provide training and assessment services.
TAA40104 replaces BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training as the required qualification for training and assessing Training Packages under the Australian Quality Training Framework.
Who needs TAA40104?
This qualification is required by anyone delivering training or conducting assessment of Training Packages under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). Such people may work or seek to work as trainers/assessors within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The qualification is also useful for people developing learning and assessment materials, managing training within an organisation or RTO or developing and delivering non accredited training for adult learners.
What does TAA40104 cover?
TAA40104 addresses a range of competency areas that represent the key areas of work undertaken within organisations that provide training and assessment services. Each of these areas is called a Field in the Training and Assessment Package (TAA04). The fields are:

Description: Nationally endorsed training Packages provide the principle benchmarks for training and assessment in the vocational education and training (VET) system. Trainers and assessors must be able to interpret and use training Packages to meet the needs of their clients; this is also a key skill for personnel with associated roles such as those who design and develop Training Package support material. Study of this unit will help you to develop the skills and knowledge to enable you to:

CSU Training Qualification Pathways for TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
CSU Training offers a range of options to assist you in achieving TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:
| Option 1 | RPL/RCC Suitable for people who hold all or part of the BSZ qualification and who have recent extensive experience working in vocational education and training |
| Option 2 | Upgrade Suitable for people who hold all or part of the BSZ qualification and who want to study the additional units though distance education. |
| Option 3 | Training program Suitable for people who do not hold any part of the BSZ qualification and who are undertaking, or will be able to undertake, some work in vocational education and training. Delivery is through distance education. |
| Option 4 | Upgrade for students who have studied a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course through Charles Sturt University Suitable for students who have completed a course of study in VET through Charles Sturt University and who wish to maintain a connection with the School of Education. This program has been customised to meet the learning needs of CSU VET graduates. It will be delivered by School of Education academics through a partnership arrangement with CSU Training |
| Option 5 | Embedded in CSU Vocational Education qualifications Students studying a Vocational Education and Training course through School of Education, Charles Sturt University can enrol with CSU Training to be awarded TAA40104 upon successful completion of the University course. School of Education staff will deliver and assess the TAA units which are embedded within the academic subjects. |
