This qualification reflects the role of individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. Typically they would report to a manager.

At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes.

    BSB30112 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualifications

OR

    with vocational experience in a supervisory role but no formal qualification.

Delivery

CSU Training delivers BSB40812 Certificate IV in Frontline Management via distance education. Individual learners may enrol at any time by completing and submitting the enrolment form

After enrolment, the learner will receive a folder containing the Learner Guides and the text book. This will be followed by contact from a Learning Facilitator who will introduce the program, negotiate a study schedule and clarify and confirm the learning and assessment requirements for the first unit. The Learning Facilitator will send Assessment guides to you electronically after the initial interview.

The Learning Guide contains written notes relating to current thinking on the topic. Learning activities that support the application of the theory into workplace practice are also included to assist the learner.

Assessment

The learner will be required to complete an assessment for each unit of competence. The assessment tasks usually take the form of a report related to the work based project/activity. A portfolio and a third party report will also be used as evidence to support the claims made in the report.

Commencement

Enrolment can be at any time. You will negotiate your study and assessment schedule with your Learning Facilitator. Adjustments can be made at any time in line with your personal circumstances.

Timeframe

You are required to complete the qualification within two (2) years. Generally it will take between 20 to 30 hours to complete each unit. This may vary depending on your relevant skills and experience.

Skill Sets

Skill Sets / Individual Units of Competence may be studied as selected by the student and/or employer. A Statement of attainment will be issued upon successful completion the assessment for the Units enrolled. These units can be used to support a Credit Transfer towards a full qualification if applicable.

CSU Training's Role:

To organise the program, deliver and assess the qualification, support and guide participants to complete the qualifications, monitor participant progress and issue the Qualification.

Supervisors and Managers Role:

To support the participant in undertaking the program by providing access to the appropriate people, time, information and resources to satisfactorily complete the qualification.

Program Participants Role:

To satisfactorily complete the qualification by meeting the timelines agreed to by the participant and the Learning facilitator, maintaining regular contact with the Learning Facilitator, submitting assessments according to the required format.

To sign up for the program you will need to

  1. Complete the eligibility for funding form and return it to CSU Training so we can check if you are eligible for commonwealth incentive payments. If so this will be paid to your employer to cover costs associated with this training.
  2. Complete and return the CSU Training Enrolment form, including payment details and your manager's signature
  3. Participate in the traineeship sign up meeting with the Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) if eligible for funding. We will organise this after you enrol.
