FAQs

Enrolment conditions

Question: Do I need an undergraduate degree to enrol?

Answer: Not necessarily. However, if you do not have an undergraduate degree, you may be required to demonstrate that you are able to reach the required academic standards as part of your application.

Question: Do I need to have Australian citizenship and/or be living in Australia to enrol?

Answer: Not at all. There are quite a number of students enrolled in Criminal Intelligence who are not residing in Australia and / or are not Australian citizens.

If you are a prospective student in either circumstance, we suggest contacting the CSU International Office.

Question: Do I need to have experience in law enforcement or an intelligence-related field to enrol?

Answer: No, you don't. Graduate Certificate subjects are designed to ensure a thorough understanding of basic and intermediate principles of Criminal Intelligence.

However, a number of assignments have a practical aspect, and require the application of intelligence principles. It is helpful (thought not essential) if you work in an environment which lends itself to this, or you have an opportunity to discuss current issues with someone who works in such an environment.

If you are uncertain, CSU staff are happy to advise.
