Question 1 Summary (5 marks)

Burton writes “Approximately sixty percent of firefighter fatalities were over the age of forty years when they were killed…” (p38). How are the initiatives outlined in the article designed to address this issue?

Part B (5 marks)
Burton writes in relation to the United States that “The safety culture has become more ingrained in fire department training operations in recent years” (p42). Comment on this statement in relation to the article and your own experience of contributing to a safety culture within the NSW Fire Brigades.
