About The School
The School of Communication at Charles Sturt University’s Bathurst Campus, west of Sydney, has long been ranked as one of Australia’s leaders in journalism, public relations and advertising education. It was one of the first communication schools set up over 30 years ago and retains that pre-eminent position. It was also the first to offer specialist BA Advertising and Commercial Radio degree courses. The School’s focus has always been on preparing students for professional employment. Senior lecturers and course coordinators usually have strong industry backgrounds and bring an essential contemporary experience to link with hands-on teaching and learning strategies. As well, all courses enjoy strong industry support. The result is that graduates have achieved leading positions in media, PR, the arts and Advertising. CSU graduates populate many of Australia ’s broadcast and newspaper newsrooms in reporting, presenting and management positions as well as arts and entertainment.
