PARADES

Parades can be of any size. Ours have included parades of the strolling bands; processions of mumming shows to their performance spaces; street processions of all available people cartwheeling, dancing, making music to crowd gather; and participation in the grand parade along with the usual assortment of trucks, cars, pipe bands and scouts groups.

The principles are colour, size, music, coordinated movement and crowd contact, all with a liberal amount of imagination thrown in.

The form:
The form is simply a group of people moving together with more energy than those watching them. This energy comes from the quality of their movement and their willingness to contact the crowd.

Principle everyone loves a parade.
Principle the leader must always keep his/her eye on the tail and keep the parade together otherwise it will straggle.

S A F E T Y
The practical work involved in devising celebrations requires the occupational health and safety practices associated with the visual and performing arts. Always put safety first.
