Finish boning the leather.
Using a sharp gouge scarf the edge of the mask on the back up to the very edge of the side of the mask. Make this cut a straight line right round the edge of the mask. Reduce the thickness of the leather by one third.
Cut away the inside flaps so that a 2cm fringe is left around the inside of the mask. Pull out and save the brass nails. Cut the inside edge into one cm wide flaps and scarf each flap to a paper thin inside edge. ie going from two thirds thickness at the polished edge of the mask to a paper thin edge to the flap.
You can view two quicktime movies from Day 6: movie one or movie two.
