Parading exercise
In this exercise, workshop participants created a visual
performance of 2-3 minutes using bookmaker stands found in the Showground
area.
 |
One of the following scenarios was allocated to each group:
- Make an entry with your stand. It is the lap of honour of the
champion.
- Unveil next year's revolutionary model car.
- Prize giving - perform an elaborate prize giving on your podium.
- Breakdown - scorch into a pit stop for a wheel change.
- You are a team of archaeologists. It is post holocaust. You
discover the last remaining automobile of the technological age.
Excavate it and begin the journey to your National Museum

 |
The bookie stands consist of a welded metal frame with a wooden platform. |
 |
This group presented their vision of the car of the future, complete with
human powered windscreen wipers. |
 |
A champion is paraded before an adoring crowd, while her crew strains
at the bit. |
|
Notes:
This exercise involved lifting. If you have a back problem, do
not lift heavy objects.
