The September workshop was held at the Bathurst Showground. You can view pictures of the workshop spaces in the Beau Brown and Trevitt Pavilions. There are also some pictures of some pre-made objects from past events which were available for the workshop.

Entrance

Bathurst Showground is located on Kendall Avenue, part of the Great Western Highway to Bathurst from Sydney. It is on the right, opposite Carrington Park immediately after crossing the Evans Bridge over the Macquarie River at the entrance to Bathurst city.

Pavilions

The showground entrance is through a gate with fairly low power lines, and leads into the two buildings used for this project, Beau Brown Pavilion on the left and Trevitt pavilion next to it. Parking space is adequate, but may need to be supervised/signposted for audiences to enable easier access.

Front door to Trevitt Pavilion is 2.8m wide by 2.8m high.

Problems with Beau Brown are that though there is a high ceiling with good spaces for large hanging images, the height is too great to be readily accessible, and is also crossed by truss bars every 4 metres. The doors are also fairly small so large images need to be constructed in parts, or made outside. Long tall images could be carried through the doors horizontally.

Trevitt also has small doors and some awkward encroachment into the floor space by the produce display shelving. Council by-laws prohibit the use of staples and nails in the wall panelling of both pavilions.

Pavilion exterior

On the left hand side outside wall of Beau Brown Pavilion there are power points and a water supply. Another outside tap is at the rear of Trevitt pavilion.

About 50 metres of open ground from the pavilions are two toilets blocks.

There is a public telephone booth near the front doors.

At the far end of the showground are stables, which should be notified if fireworks are to be used.
