The practical work involved in devising celebrations requires the occupational health and safety practices associated with the visual and performing arts. Always put safety first.

A "thongophone" consists of several lengths of piping (plastic or cardboard) and a thong or rubber paddle to hit the ends with. Different tube lengths produce different notes. Add a material strap and the thongophone can be worn in a parade.

Hubcaps can be turned into wearable gongs.

A gong dress can be made by creating a wearable frame out of cane or plastic tubing, and attaching various hittable objects to it.
