Materials:
Lengths of strong
cardboard tubing
Balloon
Small cardboard tube (for reed)
Tape
Pencils
Erasers
 |
Select a length of cardboard tube for your saxophone. |
 |
Cut the end off your balloon and stretch it over one end of the
tube.
|
 |
Tape the balloon to the tube with one or two small pieces of tape. |
 |
Use a smaller piece of cardboard as reed. Insert this ring into
the neck of the balloon (the part you normally blow into to inflate
it) |
 |
Stretch the balloon neck out with your mouth and blow into it. You
will need to stretch the neck out at right angles to the tube for
the full effect. |
 |
Different lengths of tubing will produce different sounds. You can
create a saxophone section for a marching band. |
