The BA (Communication – Advertising) degree course at Charles Sturt University is an industry focused, highly practical course that combines an integrated communication perspective with hands-on practical knowledge. It is one of the few Australian communication degree courses accredited by the International Advertising Association (IAA), a global partnership of advertisers; agencies and media organisations dedicated to the advancement of professional and ethical practice in advertising.

The Agency Environment of Kajulu Communications

Kajulu is the on-campus student agency of CSU's School of Communication. Final year Advertising students spend the majority of their time working in agency brand teams in the industry environment of Kajulu. During this time, they develop integrated communications campaigns for actual clients drawn from the ilk of Electrolux, Lion Nathan Breweries and the Traffic Accident Commission of Victoria. Kajulu also works with many local and regional clients as part of our University's commitment to community engagement.

Since its inception, Kajulu has become a model and benchmark for communication learning strategies. Whilst other institutions have attempted to emulate the concept, few, if any, have enjoyed the success or earned the accolades of Kajulu.

Beyond international awards, the standard of product created by Kajulu students for both local and national clients is well received.

Industry Standard Facilities

In addition to being exposed to the latest theories and practices for advertising research and buyer behaviour, integrated communications strategy planning, creative development, media strategy and production, students are required to rigorously apply such theories to a range of actual client situations.

To assist in this process, students gain experience using the equipment and techniques found in the workplace. Our facilities include an on-campus community radio station, television studio, multi-media production area and a PC-equipped advertising agency.

Australia's Most Wanted
