Internship Information

One of the major themes of the School of Communication’s courses are internships, which provide practical experience for students with leading organisations. These cement the practical training given in lectures and tutorials, as well as giving a major boost to employment prospects. Because of the School’s reputation for top-class vocational education, doors open with leading, highly professional organisations to students on all courses.

Journalism

The School has internship programs with many major groups in print and broadcast media. Broadcast operations involved include the news departments at Channels Seven, Nine and Ten, radio stations 2UE and 2GB, SkyNews in Sydney and Canberra, and regional television news services, including Prime at Orange. The internship scheme also includes publishers Fairfax in Sydney, Rural Press in Canberra and regional areas, and several specialised magazine operations.

Advertising

Advertising students benefit from internships in their third year at large and small agencies, and media companies.
