Kim Hardwick trained as a dancer before studying acting at The Victorian College of The Arts, and directing at The Western Australian Academy of The Arts. She has worked as an actor in theatre, film and television, and has extensive experience as a stage director. Her directing experience ranges from mainstream subsidised theatre, musical theatre, cabaret and children’s theatre, to directing for small independent companies. Her productions have toured nationally and internationally, and have been nominated for Sydney Theatre Awards.

Kim has previously taught at The Actors Centre, The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Theatre Nepean, Bradfield College and Charles Sturt University, where she is currently Associate Lecturer in Acting.

Research

Kim’s research interests include new Australian writing for stage and screen and she is actively engaged in the commissioning of several works from emerging writers. She also has a keen interest in the presentation, including producing, of these works.
