Bio

Dimi teaches in the areas of social research methods, social inequality, immigration and settlement policy and in gender and the family. Currently she is working on a n ARC Discovery Grant Project examining regionalism, governance and federalism in Australia jointly with Griffith University, University of New England and the University of Melbourne; and a project on second generation Australians which examines settlement issues such as identity, transnationalism and dual citizenship. Dimi has presented at several national and international conferences on issues to do with social capital, the second generation in Australia and on ethnicity and migration. In 2004 she convened a symposium on Social Capital: past, present and future held at CSU Wagga Wagga. Previously, she has worked at the Australian National University and various Commonwealth Government departments.
