Bio
Born in multicultural urban Sydney , Lynelle studied social work with community work major (UNSW) and Tertiary Education before completing a PhD at the University of New England . Her broad experience includes an appointment as the national coordinator for a community health project; coordinator of early childhood services in south western Victoria; social worker in rural NSW (including work with victims of crime); disability assessment in urban Sydney; Head of Counselling, Division of Forensic Medicine, Glebe; team manager child abuse and neglect ACT; taught social welfare in TAFE, Canberra Institute of Technology and CSU; was Practicum Coordinator for NSW Police College.
Lynelle currently teaches in social work, post-graduate genetic counselling and social policy subjects. She has been doing research in Broken Hill on social capital, power and community capacity building. She is a member of the Australian College of Educators, the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Centre for Rural Social Research and the Smith-Magenis Syndrome research group. She is a member of the Committee of Robinson College (Adult Community Education) and consultant for Smith-Magenis Syndrome Australia which is part of PRISMS (Parents and Researchers Interested in Smith-Magenis Syndrome).
