Bio
Max Staples teaches in the areas of history of ideas, colonial art, Renaissance art, and photography.
His publications include The Ideology of the Decameron (New York, 1994); Studies in Australian rural economic development (edited, with A. Millmow, Wagga,1998); “Visual arts” in Encyclopedia of Contemporary Italian Culture (London: Routledge, 2000); “Sunshine and shadow: the John Glover Sketchbook” in John Glover and the colonial picturesque (Hobart, 2003); and articles, reviews, and reports.
He is the inaugural winner of the Sydney Morning Herald “Ideal Moonhouse” Domestic Architecture Award.
