Bio
Dr Nicole Anae completed her BA (Hons, first class) and PhD with the Faculty of English, Journalism and European Languages at the University of Tasmania , and won both the James McAuley and Ida Williams prizes in English. She accepted the School of Historical Studies Alumni Scholarship to study Shakespeare and Renaissance Cultural History at the Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-upon-Avon with the University of Birmingham , and holds B.Ed and Dip.T qualifications, taken at Charles Sturt University , Bathurst . Her research interests include Shakespeare in Australia , Australian theatre, drama and cultural history, and the interplay between literature, performance and identity. She has published in the Journal of Australian Studies and Australasian Drama Studies and has contributed to Great Lives from History: The Nineteenth Century, 1801-1900, 2006 and Great Events from History: The Nineteenth Century, 1801-1900, 2006 with Salem Press in the USA .
