Bio
Susan Wood is a lecturer in Art History and Visual Culture in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Charles Sturt University. She teaches subjects on nineteenth century European art, the history of modern design, the history of photography, and the relationship between art and the book form. She is currently the Faculty of Arts Sub-Dean for Learning and Teaching. Her PhD thesis is titled 'Creative embroidery' in New South Wales, 1960-1975. Her current research projects are a biographical investigation of Ann Gillmore Rees, an English/Australian designer and printmaker, and the cataloguing of the sketchbooks of the artist-embroiderer Pat Langford. Susan Wood is also a practising visual artist who has exhibited in Australia and overseas.
