True Blue
150 Years of Service and Sacrifice of the NSW Police Force
From humble beginnings as a transplanted band of convict felons to today's finest, responsible for protecting 7 million people, TRUE BLUE traces a remarkable journey through the experiences of its members. Author Patrick Lindsay draws on vast archival material to interweave stories of the characters and events that have shaped the Force over 150 years - the leaders, weapons, uniforms, transport, communications, training, recruitment, forensics, licensing, water police, police women, accidents, disasters, and terrorism. It highlights the heroes and the villains, and delivers readers a powerful insight into the heritage and work of the NSW Police. Interspersed throughout with stunning montages of historical and modern photographs, this is the ultimate commemoration of the state's finest.
