Profile

Ken Probert has been with CSU since April 2009. He retired as a police officer in Sussex Police in the UK in March 2009. He graduated with a Bachelor of Education from Southampton University in 1977, following which he was a secondary school teacher for five years.
 
In 1982 he joined the Sussex Police where he spent all his police service.
 
In 1992 Ken graduated with a Master of Science in Crime and Policing from the University of Portsmouth.
 
Ken has served mainly as a detective in the Criminal Investigation Department retiring at the rank of Detective Chief Superintendent. He spent twelve years as a Senior Investigating Officer with responsibility for major crime cases. His final three years were spent as Head of Professional Standards Department with responsibility for the investigation of all complaints, misconduct and crime allegations against police officers and staff.
 
Ken is currently acting as the ADPP Course Director and he also manages the ADPP Curriculum Redesign and Renewal team. Since 2009 he has acted as Head of the School of Policing for short periods and managed the Problem Based Learning Project team. He has also co-ordinated the Police as Investigators 2 Course at Goulburn and has re-written Policing Practice: Dynamics and Development for the GPM411 course.
