Alan is a former member of Victoria Police from 1979 to 2005. Since leaving the police force, Alan has been a financial intelligence analyst working at AUSTRAC (Australia’s financial Intelligence agency) where he identified and profiled persons involved in money laundering and tax evasion.
He has also been a fraud investigator at Centrelink where he investigated complex fraud matters. In 2005 and 2007 Alan undertook a contract as a police trainer in Iraq, where he worked at a British military base at Abu Naji (near Basra) providing training to the Iraqi Police Service, and later at the Iraqi National Police Training Centre at Numinyah (near Baghdad).
