Nigel Richardson commenced with Charles Sturt University on 1st July 2012 following 30 years as a Police Constable and 3 years as a civilian lecturer with Humberside Police in the UK.

Nigel brings 24 years experience in front line policing where he was actively involved in Intelligence on Football Hooligans where he worked extensively both in the UK and Europe. He was also Prison Liaison officer which was the conduit for the exchange of Intelligence between the Prisons and Police. Due to the work he did he received national recognition in both fields. During his career he was also a tutor constable, a plainclothes detective, an intelligence collator and Operational Support Unit.

During his teaching and lecturing he was responsible for the planning and writing of several Police recruit courses and latterly for the planning, writing, organising and delivery of Civilian Investigating Officers Course as part of the Business and Workforce Modernisation of the Police. This entailed an 8 week course to enable people to assist in the Investigation field. The course involved lectures in Legislation, Interviewing, using the PEACE model, Investigation, Searching and the taking and writing of Statements from Victims and Witnesses
