Test Drive EMG100 - Introduction to Emergency Management The link below allows you to examine the subject material for EMG100 - Introduction to Emergency Management. EMG100 is the first of 21 subjects that make up the Bachelor of Social Science (Emergency Management) course offered by distance eduction at Charles Sturt University. EMG100 introduces students to the concepts and principles of emergency management at a basic level.
PLEASE NOTE, this is a "Test Drive" facility ONLY and is NOT an online subject of Charles Sturt University. It is designed to give potential students an example of how the subjects are put together for distance education (DE), the type of activities that students need to undertake, assessment items, and an introduction to the first subject that emergency management students will undertake. The "Test Drive" subject material relates to the Autumn 2004 semester ONLY. This Test Drive Subject WILL NOT be updated for future semesters. Students enrolling in the course will receive updated subject material as part of their DE packages for their relevant semester of study. At the moment none of our emergency management subjects are fully "Online Subjects" By this I mean that none of our subjects have ALL the study material available to students online. As we cannot guarantee all our students have access to the internet, we must still provide DE material in a mail format. There may be scope in the future to offer our subjects as partially or fully online, however this has not been determined as yet. This is the first of the Emergency Management subjects that have been offered in a CDRom format rather than the previous print based standard format. Bearing the above in mind, ALL of our emergency management subjects are currently supported with online components. Each of our subjects currently has its own online support resources, including an online forum, mail server and subject outline. Students enrolled in a subject have access to these facilities which enable exchange of information, ideas and contact with each other and the academic staff. Students also have access to a wide range of other University facilities online, including the student administration system, Student Services and the CSU Library.Because of the size of files we have not included the full readings for each module. We have however provided their bibliographical information in order that you can locate them through your own library resources. In addition, the three videos within the subject materials have been omitted from the test Drive Subject because of size limitations. These video presentations are provided in the actual subject materials that students receive..
