Bio

Rachel Dryer is a lecturer in Psychology at the Bathurst campus since 1998.   She received her Ph.D. from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 1997.   Rachel has almost 14 years of experience teaching Psychology at a tertiary level in three different Universities (CSU, University of Canterbury, University of Auckland).   This has involved teaching at both University of Canterbury (1997) and University of Auckland (1991-1996) undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in the areas of Cognition, Behavioural Neuroscience, and Introductory Psychology subjects.   Since her appointment at CSU she has been involved in the full range of both internal and distance modes of teaching from first year level subjects to subjects that are taught in the Master of Psychology (Clinical) program.   These subjects have been in the areas of Cognitive Psychology/Neuroscience, Human Neuropsychology, Psychological Testing/Assessment, and Problems Emerging in Childhood and Adolescence.

Rachel's research interests are in the areas of developmental disorders (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Sleep Breathing Disorders), learning disabilities (Dyslexia), psychological assessment, and cognitive development.   She also has research projects in the area of eating disorders (Bulimia Nervosa), cognition and learning.   All of these research projects reflect her desire to examine not only a range of theoretical and applied questions, but also clinical and social issues.
