Contextual theology refers to the way theology has been conceived in particular contexts. It is concerned with the interaction between universal themes in theology and issues relating to the particular context in which theology is developed.
In the Public and Contextual Theology Strategic Research Centre, theology is conceived according to traditional disciplines in theology - biblical, historical, systematic, and pastoral.
It is also conceived against the background of Australian history, the dispossession of the lands
of the indigenous peoples and the ongoing process of reconciliation.
