About The School
The School boasts outstanding facilities with Acting for Screen & Stage, and Design for Theatre & Television accessing the University’s Riverina Playhouse, a 250 seat purpose built theatre for public performance, situated in the heart of the City of Wagga Wagga. Acting students also have the opportunity to perform in the School’s intimate studio theatre and to collaborate with students in Design for Theatre & Television and Television Production on a number of projects annually.
Television Production students have access to broadcast quality equipment including a fully operational television studio and edit suites. Students enrolled in this program are supported by a number of industry Internships and Scholarships.
Graphic Design, Animation & Visual Effects and Multimedia Arts are located in the newly refurbished studios with the latest computing software and print facilities. The School annually hosts the Australian International Animation Festival, which is the premiere viewing of international animation including student work from around the work, as well as hosting Symposia, a graphic design conference interfaced between students and industry.
Students from all courses draw significantly on the expertise of the staff in photography, which is central to a number of the double degrees offered by the Faculty through the School, in addition to the single award of Bachelor of Arts (Photography).
Industry support extends to all programs of the School, including Jewellery which is at the forefront of manufacturing and design. Industry support for this course includes a number of Scholarships and Internship arrangements. The Jewellery Industry Liaison Committee consists of designers, retailers and manufacturers who proffer advice to the school on a number of issues including technical advances and design.
Fine Art is offered as a combined award between the Riverina Institute of TAFE and the School of Visual & Performing Arts with majors in Painting and Drawing with supporting studies from any of the other disciplines offered by the School.
Postgraduate courses are offered both on campus and by distance education at Masters and Doctoral levels by Coursework and Research.
