Master of Arts Practice (With Specialisations)
Master of Arts Practice (With Specialisations) Course Brochure
The Master of Arts Practice (With Specialisations) is a coursework Masters which provides students with the opportunity to undertake a supervised project in a specialised area of Fine Arts, Performance, Design, Photography, Theatre, Television, Sound, Text, Hybrid Arts or New Media. It encompasses a wide range of creative practices, whose outcomes can be exhibited, published, produced, performed or presented.
The course comprises a supervised self-devised practice based project and a writing project which engages the student in contextual reading and writing around their creative practice and in critical thinking and reflection on their creative project.
Where the creative practice project results in a body of new work, the process and outcome of the integrated writing project is a ‘body of text’ which can utilize a range of online technologies such as blogs, forums, social networking, web 2.0 and cloud-based computing; as well as more traditional forms such as journals and the traditional academic essay.
