Bio
David Wicks is Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga. From 2004 to 2007 he was Course Coordinator for the BA Acting for Screen and Stage. He has extensive experience as an actor and director on stage, in television and film. Recent theatre directing credits include the Melbourne Fringe production of The Weather, and Your Health, by Bethany Simons, the University Theatre Ensemble productions of Little Women and The Five O'Clock Wave. Recent acting credits include the Riverina Theatre Company production of David's solo adaptation of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, Ragueneau in the Sydney Theatre Company production of Cyrano de Bergerac and Mark in the Riverina Theatre Company production of Birthrights. Television appearances include Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Halifax fp and Stingers. For many years he co-devised and directed Hildegard Theatre Company's many award-winning productions, including Women in the Walkl, The Wedding and Inje which toured internationally. He is co-founder, with Dr Ashley Wain, of the actor's company Eupatoria. The company is currently creating a performance based on Shakespeare's King Lear, using Authentic Movement and Heart Rhythm Meditation as the starting point for rehearsal. Previously to Charles Sturt University David taught acting at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University and University of Ballarat. Currently he is focusing on completing his PhD (RMIT University).
