Bio
John is a member of the staff in Performing Arts at Charles Sturt University and has been for 22 years. He initially completed an Associate Diploma in Media Studies in 1984 and then completed a BA in Theatre - Technical Theatre Production in 1993.
John JonesHe was initially employed at the University with the Video Production Unit and Technical Services Division. His responsibilities included camera, editing and location and post production sound for Video Production and the master recording of audio tapes for the External Teaching Programmes. He was for a period responsible for the administration of the production unit.
John JonesHis time at CSU is now largely taken up by his job as Production Officer to the Television and Design Teaching Programmes and as Business Manager and sometimes Production Manager for the University Theatre Ensemble.
John JonesIn 1984 he took advantage of an opportunity to work for the BBC in London over a period of four months. He was also a partner in a Video Production Company producing independent sports videos as well as producing programs for organisations including The Department of Health, The Department of School Education and the National Iceskating Association. In the 80’s he co-owned a sound reinforcement business which led to opportunities to work with many local national acts of that time.
John JonesHe has been involved with theatre and events in Wagga for over 25 years. During that time he has designed and/or operated sound and lights for Rivcol Drama, The University Theatre Ensemble, Riverina Theatre Company., the Kapooka Army Band, and the Golden Gown to name a few. He has been a mentor in Sound for the Department of School Education.
