Bio
Margaret Waller joined CSU in 2006. For five years, she worked in Sydney as a freelance photographer and trainer. Before that, Margaret worked in editorial photography and photojournalism for 18 years in Southern Africa from 1982 to 2000. During that time she completed her Masters of Arts in Fine Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her photographs have appeared in newspapers and magazines in Australia, Europe, Southern Africa and USA.
In her current practice, she is combining visions of Australia and abroad to explore notions of difference and commonality. In an on-going investigation, Margaret is recording water movements using photogram techniques. Her teaching strategy is based on a commitment to active learning and to encourage students to develop their technical skills and creativity towards successful professional photographic careers.
