Margaret Woodward
Bio
Associate Professor Margaret Woodward graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Arts (Geography and Sociology), a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Graphic Design) and a Diploma of Education. She is currently completing a PhD (Design) at the Curtin University of Technology.
Margaret’s research interests include interpretation design and the role designers play in communicating and framing ideas about natural and cultural heritage through designed interfaces and artefacts. She has written papers for publication in a variety of contexts including conference papers, journal articles and catalogue essays and also maintains an exhibition profile as a textile artist and illustrator.
Margaret was also a founding member of the Workhorse Design group in Hobart and has received a number of industry awards for her work. Margaret has lectured in Visual Communication at the Tasmanian School of Art and also taught in the School’s Wilderness and Natural Environment program.Between 2001 and 2006 she lectured in Communication Design at the National Institute of Design, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne and managed partner programs in Sydney and Hong Kong.
