About the Course
The BA (TV Production) prepares students for entry to the Broadcast Television, Pay Television, Independent Production and related industries. It provides them with the appropriate vocational, creative and theoretical skills to allow them to pursue high powered careers in the broadcast and entertainment industries. It is a unique and strongly focused course with an outstanding record of strong graduate employment outcomes.
The course provides study and training in all facets of the creative process including scriptwriting, single camera production, multi camera production, multi track sound recording, linear and non-linear post production, and multi camera outside broadcast ( OB ) production. An elective strand is embedded in the course allowing students to undertake complimentary study in a number of fields including Animation and Visual Effects, Design for Theatre & Television, Photography and Graphic Design. Double Degrees are also available with Multimedia, Graphic Design and Photography, allowing students to complete two full degrees over four years.
The degree is taught with fully equipped facilities: a broadcast standard multi camera studio, a commercial standard outside broadcast truck, a suite of 12 post production rooms and a range of broadcast quality outside cameras including the latest in High Definition.
Staffed and taught by industry trained professionals, and including regular visits from current network employees, the degree is recognised as a key supplier of high standard personnel. It is actively supported by the Broadcast and Pay Television industries through the integral third-year Internship program which arranges attachments to industry as part of the student's course.
