The post production wing houses 11 individual suites, all in separate rooms, and provides a variety of professional computer based editing platforms as well as access to traditional linear editing facilities. The suites aim to give students access to a variety of platforms of an equivalent standard of operation to those used in industry including the following:

  • 4 x Avid Xpress Pro on-line / off-line digital non-linear edit suites (Pentium 4 PC Based) with vision and audio monitoring
  • 1 x Final Cut Studio on-line digital non-linear edit suite on Apple dual G5 with 1.2TB RAID and Decklink Extreme uncompressed digital I/O, D9 and SP feeder VTR’s, professional audio, video and technical monitoring
  • 1 x Final Cut Studio on-line digital non-linear edit suite on Apple dual G5
  • 4 x Final Cut Pro Studio off-line digital non-linear edit suites on Apple G4 / Intel iMac systems
  • 1 x Sony SP based linear A/B roll edit suite with Sony UVW series VTR’s, Sony BVE2000 edit control, Sony DFS500 DVE / Vision Mixer, Inscriber CG character generator
  • 1 x Darwin streaming server on Apple G4 system for web-streaming
  • additional software applications include Softimage XSI, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Apple Soundtrack, Apple Shake, Apple Motion, Apple DVD Studio Pro, Apple Compressor
