The School of Accounting and Computer Science was established on 1 January, 2007 as a result of the institutional restructure of Charles Sturt University in 2006. The new School was created through the amalgamation of two former Schools, the School of Accounting and the School of Information Technology .
The School of Accounting and Computer Science offers courses and conducts research in accounting, law, information technology, computer science and games technology. These courses equip graduates for employment in the accounting profession, the IT industries as well as diverse areas in commerce, business and manufacturing.
The Centre for Research in Complex Systems has a close association with the School.
The School coordinates subjects in the cross-campus undergraduate and postgraduate accounting, computer science and information technology courses, with subjects being taught in multiple modes – distance, internal, offshore tutorial and also video interaction with the Dubbo campus. Many subjects are taught by international partners and quality assured by the School.
