Welcome to the School of Accounting and Finance
The School offers subjects in accounting, economics, finance and law in cross-campus undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with subjects being taught in multiple modes – distance, internal, offshore at Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga campuses and through partners at Study Centre Sydney and Melbourne and other offshore partners. Many subjects are taught by teaching partners and quality assured by the School.
The practical focus of courses offered by the School of Accounting and Finance ensures that our graduates are work-ready and equipped with qualifications recognised globally. We are committed to providing quality teaching informed by research and backed by a supportive learning environment. Our accounting courses meet the academic requirements for accreditation with key professional bodies including CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and to become an Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants. This emphasis on relevant professional accounting education means that our graduates are sought after for employment in professional accounting practice, commerce, industry, government and the not-for-profit sector.
Our undergraduate courses are offered at Albury, Bathurst and Wagga Wagga and through video interaction at the Dubbo campus. Postgraduate and undergraduate courses are also available through distance education supported by School of Accounting and Finance staff and the many facilities provided by CSU. Many subjects are taught by our international partners and quality assured by the School.
We have an active research profile in accounting and law, including areas such as: Financial and Management Accounting (focusing particularly on Accounting in the Public Sector), Accounting Education, Social and Environmental Accounting, Ethics and Accounting, Accounting and Small Business, Environmental Law, International Trade Law, Transnational Commercial Law and aspects of Business Law.
