Ph.D. (Bombay), M.A. (Calcutta), B.A. (Hons.) (Calcutta)

Currently he teaches undergraduate and post-graduate level economics and finance subjects. He is also involved in management of a finance subject in Australian Graduate Management Consortium (AGMC), a professional course of CSU. He supervises doctoral students. So far two students have completed their doctoral degrees under his principal supervision. In the recent past, he was 'Acting Director - DBA Programme' at the Faculty of Business, CSU. He is an active researcher and has published in international referred journals in Australia and overseas. He was involved with the corporate sector in senior management positions in Australia and overseas for 18 years and represented countries in international forums. He assumed academic career in 1998 and taught at University of Queensland and at Griffith University, both in Brisbane before joining CSU (Bathurst) in 2001. He also worked as an independent consultant in Australia during 1996-98 and completed several economic and tourism related projects.

Grants and Awards

An Analysis of a Regional Nursing Labour Market in Australia,' Linkage project development pilot grant' of $7,000 from ILWS (ERD), 2007-08. (jointly with Professor John Hicks, Dr. Richard Sappey and Dr. Heather Latham – all from CSU). The purpose of the project is to enhance understanding and improve policy and practice of the operations of regional labour markets for nursing in regional New South Wales. Major industry partners are likely to be Greater Western Health of NSW Government and a Catholic hospital and age-care organisation.

Analysis of Labour Market Dimensions of the Central West Region in NSW, ' CSU Small Grant' of $7,000, 2005-06. This research project provides a comparative and critical analysis of the principal factors operating in local labour markets (LL Ms) in Australia with particular focus on the Central West region of NSW.

Possibilities for closer economic ties between India and Australia in Capital Goods Industries in WTO Regime, 'Macquarie University Research Grant' of $20,000, 2004-05. (jointly with Dr. P Mukhopadhyaya of Macquarie University and Associate Professor U. Bhattacharya of IDSK, India). This research project intends to determine the areas of cooperation between India and Australia in the capital goods industry to identify and examine mutually beneficial areas of technology transfer and investments.

Impacts of the Proposed Australia-China Free Trade Agreement on Investment Flows, CSU Faculty of Commerce 'Asia-Pacific Research Project Grant' of $5,000, 2005. (jointly with Professor John Hicks). This research project critically examines the impact of the proposed FTA between Australia and China on investment flows between the two countries. The project has been completed.
