About the Australian Journal of Accounting Education

The first journal will be published in 2004, and has evolved from the annual Accounting Educators Forum, presented by the NSW Division of CPA Australia and the School of Financial Studies, Charles Sturt University. The Forum provides opportunities for the presentation of embryonic works relating to the teaching of accounting, as well as more in depth practices. Opportunities for refereed publications in the area of accounting education have been limited. Yet this journal, through its accreditation on the DEST Register of Journals, will ensure academics pursuing research in this area, are able to accumulate DEST points.

The journal welcomes research which constitutes innovations in theories and methodologies, as well as improvements in accounting education policy and practice. It also encourages international contributions, cross-border reflections and comparisons, as well as discussions of global issues in accounting education.

AJAE has applied for recognition as a journal on the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) Register of Refereed Journals.
