Welcome to the School of Business
The School of Business is a multi-campus school with staff and students on each of the University’s main campuses: Albury-Wodonga; Bathurst; Orange; and Wagga Wagga. Academic staff within the School teach and research in the discipline areas of Economics, Finance, Management and Marketing and many have extensive business and practical workplace experience that informs their teaching and research. A significant number of staff are also engaged in private and public sector consultancies and/or research projects that have a strongly applied focus. You will find among the staff of the School of Business some of Charles Sturt University’s best researchers and teachers, all of whom are committed to support the learning and development of our students. Indeed, the School’s academic and administrative staff are highly responsive to student needs and we strive to treat all our students as individuals rather than student numbers.
We provide great educational opportunities to those seeking to study a single subject at undergraduate level through to those wishing to engage with the latest high-level theory and practice through a doctoral research course.
We seek to produce graduates who are highly knowledgeable, insightful, reflective, ethical and workplace capable. Further, we are committed to delivering a great business education experience across all our disciplines and courses. We offer what are sometimes termed ‘generalist’ business courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Bachelor of Business Studies and the Master of Business. The School also delivers more ‘specialist’ courses that build core knowledge and skills in particular discipline areas such as Finance, Human Resource Management and Marketing. For those seeking to develop their management and leadership knowledge, skills and credibility, we offer a very popular and, and highly regarded, MBA course and a new Master of Business Leadership degree. For a full list of the courses managed by the School please go to: Courses
In each of our courses, we provide opportunities for our students to acquire excellent critical thinking, analytical, writing and other communications skills while developing their knowledge base in a diverse array of discipline areas. The School also offers great international study opportunities, but our students can also engage with other cultures, ideas and practices by engaging with other on-campus or distance education students from many countries across the globe.
I hope that you choose to study with the School of Business, and my colleagues and I look forward to helping you to further develop your knowledge and skills, and realise your career aspirations.
