Jeff graduated from Monash University in 1971 with an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a professional engineer in air conditioning design, and in general project management until 1976 when he completed a teaching degree. He subsequently taught in a number of subject areas in Victorian secondary schools and TAFE colleges. He joined CSU in 1985 and has since completed a Masters degree in Information Systems and is an active researcher in Evolutionary Computation. In 2002 Jeff was a member of the Informatics Research Group which received the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Research Excellence.
Teaching Summary
Over the years Jeff has developed and taught in a number of subject areas of computing and information systems, including programming (in a number of different languages), computer organisation, data communications, operating systems, Internet publishing, and web server management. Jeff loves teaching! In 2000 he received the School's Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2001 was awarded the Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence and was runner up for the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
