Mark joined the University in 2002 following two years volunteer work on the Pacific island of Pohnpei. Prior to this he had a sixteen year career with a major Australian bank. During this time he worked in the bank's international trade, financial markets, corporate agribusiness, and commercial banking areas.
In the financial markets division Mark assisted corporate and commercial customers manage their foreign exchange and commodity price exposures. In the corporate agribusiness and commercial banking roles Mark assisted clients with raising finance, establish transaction banking arrangements, as well as managing the risk associated with these products.
Mark currently lives near Wellington on a small rural property.
