Val is a lecturer in management at the School of Marketing and Management.
Before becoming an academic, Val worked in a number of commonwealth and state government departments and agencies in Adelaide, Darwin, and Canberra. He has twenty five years experience in public sector management, mostly at the middle, senior and senior executive management levels. Val's public service career covered the areas of HRM services, finance, budgeting, industrial relations, industrial democracy, management consultancy, organisation development, change management, ministerial and parliamentary liaison, business planning and development, marketing, corporate strategic planning, HR strategy and HRD policy.
