As Australia’s premier regional university, CSU has strong links with both local and national industry to ensure its courses offer students a strong combination of theory and practical experience.
For this initiative, detailed negotiations between the banking industry, Omega Performance Corporation and Charles Sturt University has resulted in the design of a ‘tailored’ bankers curriculum, which specifically incorporates and builds onto the completion of designated Omega modules.
This initiative allows any banking industry employee who completes the fourteen Omega modules through the Credit Skills Assessment System, in ‘Understanding Business Cash Flow’ and ‘Commercial Loans to Small Business’ or ‘Commercial Loans for Business’ strands, to obtain subject credits in CSU courses at undergraduate or postgraduate level. The program is extremely flexible, and offers multiple exit options with an appropriate university award attached to it.
The CSU Bankers Curriculum program is totally endorsed by Omega Performance Corporation. Ms Jenny Daley, Managing Director, Australia for Omega said:
‘This is a fabulous initiative on the part of Charles Sturt University and we welcome the link made through the development of this concept. Participants are now able to have their Omega experience recognised with a leading tertiary provider and credited towards either a Bachelor Degree, a Graduate Certificate qualification, or even towards completion of a Master of Applied Finance. The concept is unique and very exciting.’

The CSU ‘Bankers Curriculum’ has flexible entry, which can cater for industry practitioners at all levels and experience. All streams build on a compulsory ‘core’ of completed Omega modules linked to two specific CSU subjects. Once a chosen core has been completed, participants have the option to exit the program with an appropriate award, or to undertake additional study to gain further qualifications.
