Colin Boylan
Dr Colin Boylan is a senior lecturer in Education. He has extensive teaching and researching experience in the following areas: Primary and Secondary Science Education; Rural Education; Assessment and evaluation of educational programs, and use of technologies to deliver education programs to remote sites.
Colin Boylan has been awarded a Life Membership award from the Society for the provision of Education in Rural Australia. He is currently on the Executive board of management for the Society for the Provision of Education. Additionally, he is on the Editorial Board Team for the journal Education in Rural Australia as well as being a reviewer for the journal.
Colin is also on the editorial review panels for the following journals: International Electronic Journal in Elementary Education; Children-at-Risk; Australian Science Teachers' Journal Investigating Science, and the Journal of Research in Rural Education. Additionally, he has served as an ad hoc reviewer for the journal Rural Society.
Colin is a member of the Institute for Land Water and Society and has been awarded a Research Fellowship from the Institute. Additionally he has served on a variety of Science curriculum committees for the New South Wales Board of Studies as well as being a member of a number of Science HSC examination committees since 1995.
Colin has an extensive publication track record in science education and rural education and has been awarded over $1 million of research grants and consultancies. Currently he is involved in a number of projects focussing on the Quality Teaching and Learning Framework in New South Wales and its application to primary and secondary education contexts.
