Bio

Following the completion of her B.Ed(Primary)(Honours) degree, Kate accepted an Australian Postgraduate Award to undertake her Doctoral studies. Kate’s Doctoral research continues the focus of her Honours research – specifically the transition to high school for students in rural Australia. As such, Kate has a strong interest in many issues related to rural education in Australia and mixed method research with an emphasis on exploring and understanding students’ experiences of different educational transitions.

Since commencing work with CSU, Kate has undertaken the role of Professional Experience Coordinator for the B.Ed(Primary) course and has also coordinated, taught and/or been a marker of several internal and distance, undergraduate and postgraduate subjects including professional experience, educational research, rural and sociology based subjects. During her time as the Professional Experience Coordinator (Primary), Kate was a member and Chair of the Practicum Advisory Committee.
