Dr Jane Wilkinson
Jane has an extensive background as an English and English as a Second Language teacher in rural and urban settings. She worked as a consultant in the areas of English curriculum and Equal Opportunities, before taking up a position as an Assistant Principal in both school and out of school settings.
Jane's teaching areas include educational leadership, sociology of education and research subjects in Honours. She is currently Chair of the School of Education's Research and Professional Learning Committee, as well as Bachelor Education Primary (Honours) course coordinator. Her research interests include educational leadership, and in particular issues of diversity within school and academic leadership. Jane's doctoral study examined representations of Australian women leaders in the media and academia. She has recently completed Visiting Scholarships in the Universities of Nottingham and Manchester and has presented at a number of international forums. She was winner in 2007 of the Australian Association's Research in Education (AARE) Early Career Researcher Award for oustanding conference paper.
