Bio

Stuart initially trained as a teacher in England . Since then he has taught in England , Canada and Australia in primary and secondary schools, teaching in a variety of settings including mainstream, special education and behaviour units. Since he came to Australia , Stuart has taught in several education sectors. He has taught in TAFE colleges across New South Wales teaching Adult Basic Education, ICT and students with disabilities. He has also taught in several tertiary education settings across New South Wales . He currently lecturers in Educationin a range of areas, including inclusive education, classroom and behaviour management, educational psychology, and child and adolescent development, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research areas focus on students with learning disabilities and misconceptions towards them, teacher efficacy, classroom and behaviour management, and quality teaching and instructional strategies.

Professional Engagement

Community professional in service programs facilitated and/or developed

2005-2007: Behaviour management for teachers.  A series of workshops developed and offered to teachers and other school personnel with the support of Department of Education and Catholic Schools Office. 

2006: Learning Disabilities Professional Development. A two day professional development program with Richard Lavoie was offered to teachers and other school personnel across Australia in partnership with Auspeld and Speld NSW.
