The National Centre for Vocational Education Research(NCVER) is an excellent source of reference material which provides:

journal articles from Australia and overseas;
research reports (published and unpublished);
current research projects from major nationally funded projects, research centres and independent researchers; and
international material and projects focussing on the Asia Pacific region

A similar database is EdResearch Online

EdResearch is a freely searchable web database. It includes 11,000 records from the Australian Education Index, covering all educational sectors. 8500 of the documents are available on the web for free with the remainder available for a copyright fee.
