Information for Prospective Students

How to Join Us

The Faculty of Education offers a Doctor of Philosophy in the fields of education, information studies, and exercise science.

You can take these courses full time or part time via distance or full time on campus. All distance education students are expected to have contact with their principal supervisor at least monthly via email, telephone, video conference, online forums, or skype and through CSU Interact.

During your candidature you are required to present a seminar on your proposed research - usually within the first year of enrolment (in the first two years for part time candidates) - to a panel of readers and other interested staff. This is usually done on campus but off-campus candidates may be able to present their research via video conference/skype.

The Faculty runs a three-day seminar each year for all doctoral students and their supervisors. Students attending are required to give a short presentation on their research with workshops and other sessions held on relevant subjects.

Before applying for entry to a doctoral program you should contact the Sub-Dean, Graduate Studies to discuss your proposed research.
